REPORT ON THE TWO-DAY MSME VENDOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME HELD AT CHERLAPALLY INDUSTRIALISTS ASSOCIATION ON 25TH NOVEMBER 2022

MSME-Development & Facilitation Office(MSME-DFO), Balanagar XRoads, Hyderabad is organised a two-day Vendor Development Programme on 25th & 26th November 2022 at Cherlapally Industrialists Association Hall, Cherlapally, Hyderabad. Shri B.H.V.S.Narayana Murthy, Director Generl (Missiles & Strtegic Systems), DRDO visited the Exhibition as Chief Guest for the inaugural function held on 25-11-2022.
Shri D.Chandra Sekhar, Addl.Development Commissioner, MSME-DFO, Hyderabad welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries on to the dais. He explained that the objective of this programme is to create a suitable forum for business linkages between CPSUs, large industries with MSEs for business growth. He urged the participating CPSUs and MSEs to exchange their annual procurement plans and vendor registration process etc. He expressed his happiness for all the CPSUs and banks who have actively participated and supported the MSMEs. He briefly explained various MSME schemes like Marketing Assistance, Domestic and International Exhibition. He said that 4 such programmes are being planned and will be held in the current financial year with the support of CPSUs and Banks to encourage MSME sector in the State.
Shri Sudhir Reddy, President, TIF said that MSEs are the back bone of the country who supported and protected the country during Corona. He said that MSME sector provides more number of jobs even with less investment. He urged the participating MSEs to get benefit out of this VDP and know about various concessions, subsidies being provided by the Central and State Govt through Public Procurement Policy, establishment of CFCs, product marketing, ZeM registrations, Domestic & International Cooperation Schemes. He appealed to the MSEs to interact with various PSUs participating in the VDP and know about their registration procedures and requirements. He requested the Government to provide some concession under GeM registration, promptness in answering various queries from the MSEs without time delay so as to avoid excess payments for the works they undertake due to increase in raw material prices. He said that as MSE sector does not have standard set up in its functioning and requested that Government should support MSEs for the ease of doing business. He appealed to the Association members to come forward for setting up of CFC at Cherlapally Industries Association with the support of Ministry of MSME.
Shri K.Srinivas, General Manager, Bharat Electronics Limited said that BEL has been consistently achieving the target of 25% to 30% mandatory procurement from MSEs but somewhat trying hard to achieve the target of 4% SC/ST entrepreneurs and 3% Women entrepreneurs and requested women entrepreneurs to come forward in setting up of their business ventures. He lauded the efforts made by the MSEs in supporting BEL where the organization could achieve huge annual turnover even during Covid times and never failed in providing quality material, price compatibility consistently. He appealed to the participating MSEs to utilize the various services being offered by BEL for their benefit.
Shri N.Ram Babu, Executive Director, ECIL said that 40-45% of MSEs are the life line of the country and are contributing for 25% of the country’s GDP. He said that ECIL is having state-of-the art technology in Testing, Calibration facilities and urged the MSEs to approach them for any vendor registration services.
Shri B.Y.V.Srinivasa Rao, Dy General Manager, National Fuel Complex said that their organization is achieving 25-30% procurement from MSEs and are in the process of setting up of metallurgical labs and providing technical guidance all over the country. He appealed to the MSEs to be pro-active towards utilization of GeM procedures which really benefits the MSEs in the long run. He said that as the Central and State Governments are providing various schemes, time is ripe now for the MSMEs to get benefit out of them.
Shri Govinda Reddy, President, Cherlapally Industrialists Association appealed to the MSMEs to utilize this opportunity in getting awareness about various Government Schemes and vendor registration procedures and requested the PSUs to register all those MSEs who are competent and qualified enough without time delay. He said that services being provided by MSMEs are on par with any other large scale industry as they have technologically upgraded themselves giving out best quality and price. He urged the Government to provide some more encouragement to access and avail the benefits of Govt Schemes.
Shri B.H.V.S.Narayana Murthy, Director General Manager, (Missiles & Strategic Systems), DRDO said that DRDO will support MSMEs in becoming their vendors, utilize in their research and development. Further, he expressed his support to MSMEs to involve them in their indiginisation projects in terms of quality design and development of products through handholding.
